Jean McGreggor has been a practicing Pagan for around 30 years. She started as a Wiccan, but her path has wended through many iterations, and she has been fortunate to be welcomed in Circles of many traditions. She has found much to appreciate in all of these and encourages acceptance and exploration in others paths. The most profound aspects of her daily practice include gratitude, awe and mindfulness. She is committed to helping facilitate community and well knows the benefits of a strong tribe. Her interests include hobby quilting, hanging out in nature, being a citizen scientist, collecting books, and other habits that stretch her mind. Lovingly referred to as Mama Jean the Wise Crone, she is sought out for her grounded, practical, and straightforward wisdom by those around her. Jean's experience and down-to-earth charisma have been an asset to the Lowcountry and to PAL. Emeritus Board Member, Jean has served on the board of directors as co-chair, and currently serves as a moderator volunteer in person. Angela Mizell began exploring Paganism in the early nineties (with widely varying degrees of commitment) but became more serious in her practice in the last decade. That recommitment to spiritual development led her to seek community and eventually led her to Pagan Alliance of the Lowcountry, where she currently serves as an Emeritus Board Member and in-person moderator volunteer. Angela considers herself broadly spiritual and doesn’t currently subscribe to any specific dogma as she studies and enjoys the journey. She has enjoyed both solitary and community practice, and is particularly interested in intentionality and ritual in daily life. Her current obsessions include astrology, gardening, and staring at the moon. She also enjoys fiction writing, journaling, music, and art—all things she considers foundational to her spiritual practice. With her quick wit and southern sassy charm, Angela is most described as a delight to be around. Articulate and forthright, she is found most often utilizing her love of the arts and the written word for the community's spiritual growth. Jana grew up Methodist in her Grandma's church over summers as a child, and never realized anything else existed outside of the big 3. Jana has since unofficially been a Pagan for over 20 years. With a long pause between then and when she found PAL, and has been excited to be back on her path. Her initial exposure to Wicca back in 2002 was a couple of years before moving to Charleston. It was through that exposure that she finally realized there was a name for what she felt, thought and believed in. As an avid reader, most of her initial knowledge came as a solitary practitioner and now helps PAL's members feel a sense of camaraderie as she connects to others with similar histories. When Jana moved back to the lowcountry, she was thrilled to find the Pagan Community still going strong in the area, albeit by a different group name, she found names, faces, and friends from the past still doing what they were back then. Now as one of PAL's cherished volunteers she helps welcome folks and keep the community going strong with her calm logic. Lee Burbage is a practitioner of modern Paganism and Celtic Druidry who first got started attending CUUPs meetings with his mom back in middle school. He’s been practicing on and off for over 25 years, with much of his early path shaped through personal study and solo practice. Over time, his approach to Druidry has grown into a living, grounded path centered on connection to land, community, and tradition. After finding his way back to the Pagan community through the Pagan Alliance of the Lowcountry, Lee discovered a renewed sense of purpose in connecting with others and building community. Through the Pagan Alliance of the Lowcountry, he enjoys helping create welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can explore their paths and feel at home. Lee is often found at events with camera-in-hand, respectfully taking photos and capturing memories in video! Lee works closely with our Social Media Director and Web Page Director to curate content such as that found on our Instagram account under PAL To Nature.
